South Coast Workshop
This COVID safe, intensive two-day workshop introduces you to the wonder of the Wet Plate Collodion Process.
The workshop covers a brief introduction to this historical process, an understanding of the chemicals and cameras used and practical instruction on coating, exposing, developing and varnishing the plate. Participants will learn how to make a positive image on a sheet of 5x4 aluminium plate (Tintype) using 19th century chemistry, techniques, and camera equipment.
All cameras and materials used are provided, some understanding of analogue photography would be an advantage - but not necessary.
Participants should expect to leave with 2-4 finished plates at the end of the weekend.
Limited to 4 participants.
Cost: $750 + food & accomodation
The workshop is being held in a beautiful secluded location, surrounded by lush littoral rainforest on the shores of Swan Lake on the NSW South Coast.
Accomodation (Friday and Saturday nights) is available on site, via six lovingly-restored 1950’s style cottages. Participants are welcome to bring family and friends to join them for the weekend.
The workshop will run from 10am - 5pm both days.
Please visit The Spring's website to book accomodation and to learn about some of the local attractions.
