PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Our wet plate portrait studio is based in the historic Edwardian spa town of Te Aroha, Aotearoa. When in Australia, you’ll find us at The Lightroom in Sydney, offering authentic wet plate collodion portrait sessions in both locations.
All wet plate pricing includes one original plate (Tintype) and a web resolution digital copy. High resolution files are not provided, however fine art prints are available on request.
During development, it’s quite common for artifacts to appear on the plate. Should they detract from the image we can re shoot.
Plates are available framed or unframed. For framing, please allow two weeks for delivery.
Please allow for a minimum of one hour per session.

We digitize and restore fragile glass plates, vintage photographs, slides and negatives.

THE EVENING SESSIONS
Bring your favourite people, some BYO, order in a takeaway and spend the evening exploring the historic wet plate collodion process. At the end of the session, you will leave with a unique and original hand-made portrait (5x4 tintype) and a complimentary digital file of the image. Sessions are available in both Sydney and Te Aroha.
Minimum, 3 people.
Weeknights, 6pm - late
$200.00 per plate / cash only
POP UPS
In Aotearoa, our van is available for private and corporate events. If you have an event coming up and would like to host our tintype studio as part of your celebrations, we would love to talk.

For those of you interested in learning more about the historic Wet Plate Collodion Process, intensive one-day workshops are available in both Sydney and Te Aroha upon request.
