Arts Under The Mountain: Wet Plate Portrait Sessions

  • Tintype Central 123 Whitaker Street Te Aroha, Waikato, 3320 New Zealand (map)

Arts Under the Mountain is an annual outdoor arts festival created to promote and celebrate the local artistic community in and around the historic spa town of Te Aroha. With over 50 artists participating, there will be a huge variety of artworks available to view and purchase including sculpture, embroidery, paintings, pottery, ceramics, etchings, photography, metalwork, glasswork, and repurposed mixed media and engineered creations. In many cases you will also have the opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their practices and artworks with them.

On view at Tintype Central will be a series of hand crafted images created using the wet plate collodion process. I will also be offering wet plate portrait sessions to anyone interested in experiencing how portraits were made during the Victorian era.

Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
